For over 20 years, Valley Christian Academy has been a provider of Quality Christian Education in the South Valley of Albuquerque. VCA is a ministry of Valley Christian Church, a non-denominational church.

David Morgan, Pastor of Valley Christian Church, is also the school’s administrator. Also assisting in the oversight of the school is the VCA School Board, which is under the direction of the Valley Christian Church’s Education Ministry. Ultimately, VCA is under the direction of the Overseers/Leaders of Valley Christian Church

          SPIRITUAL--To help each child:
· Developa knowledge, love, and respect for God and His creation.

           ACADEMIC-- To help each child:
· Developcommunication skills in the areas of listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
· Developa knowledge of mathematics.
· Developan appreciation of American and World History.
· Developgood study habits.
· Developan appreciation of sports through observation and participation.
· Develop safety awareness.
          EMOTIONAL/SOCIAL -- To help each child:
· Develop appreciation, compassion, and respect for others as unique individuals created by God.
· Experience success in group participation.
· Develop self-control and responsibility.
· Develop and express Biblical standards, principles, and ethics.

…THE CURRICULUM

VCA’s education is built upon the firm foundation of God’s Word, the Bible. All of our teachers are Christians, committed to teaching and applying the Bible to life. Bible instruction is part of every grade’s curriculum. VCA uses the A Beka curriculum, which is dedicated to providing quality education from a Christian perspective. The A Beka curriculum has been developed and refined over a period of more than 40 years. Today’s students need to be taught the accumulated wisdom of the past from God’s point of view and trained in the way they should go (Proverbs 22:6), so they will have a firm foundation from which to evaluate the present and make proper decisions for the future.

At Valley Christian Academy, we not only want our students prepared to make a living; we also want them prepared to live! In addition to the traditional school subjects, each grade participates in Physical Education and Life Education classes occur each week.

…THE CLASSROOM

The student to teacher ratio at VCA is limited to no more than 15 to 1. While this is the limit, some of our classes have an even smaller ratio, thus enabling our students to receive the attention and assistance needed to learn.

Our school hours are

8:30 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday – Thursday

8:30 AM – Noon on Fridays

Friday, is also “Chapel Day” with the entire school body involved in chapel services at 9 AM.

Kindergarten at VCA is full day, with the same hours as other grades.
